Climate summary
Namibe (formerly also referred to as Moçâmedes) is a coastal city in southwestern Angola. The coastal desert setting
keeps rainfall extremely low, while the ocean influence moderates temperatures compared to the interior.
Best time to visit
In general, many travelers prefer the drier, sunnier months. Coastal summer is usually comfortable; winter can be mild
but more damp/foggy along the coast.

What to pack for Namibe / Angola coast
- Winter (Jun–Aug): light layers, a sweatshirt, and a windproof jacket (coastal evenings can feel cool).
- Summer (Dec–Feb): light breathable clothing, sun protection, and a thin layer for evening breeze.
- Year-round: sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and comfortable walking shoes. For desert excursions, add a scarf/buff for dust and wind.
