How to Apply for a Benin eVisa

Step 1: confirm that you need an eVisa

African citizens may travel to Benin without a visa for up to 90 days. Other foreign visitors should begin on the official eVisa platform and check whether their nationality or purpose requires an application.

Step 2: prepare the application

Have the passport, email address, proposed entry date, accommodation or host information and payment method ready. Enter names, passport number and expiry date exactly as they appear in the passport. Review every field before submission because an issued eVisa cannot be modified.

Step 3: select the correct validity

The official service offers 30-day and 90-day validity choices. Select the option matching the planned stay and entry needs rather than choosing solely by price. The start of validity is based on the entry date declared in the application.

Step 4: apply within the official window

The official FAQ recommends applying at least seven days before entry and says an application cannot be submitted more than 90 days before the planned entry date. Processing can take from one hour to 96 hours, so do not depend on the fastest possible outcome.

Step 5: check the issued document

Verify passport details, validity and entry information as soon as the eVisa arrives. Save offline and printed copies. The official service says issued applications are non-refundable and cannot be modified, which makes careful review before payment essential.
