Benin Visa and Entry Requirements
First check whether you need an eVisa
African passport holders may visit Benin without a visa for up to 90 days under the official policy. Other travelers should check the official eVisa system or current reciprocal exemption information. Do not direct an eligible African visitor to a paid application form.
Prepare the core travel documents
Use the same passport for the application, booking and journey. Confirm its validity for the intended trip and keep a clear biographical-page copy. Prepare accommodation or host information, intended entry date and the contact details required by the official form.
Documents to carry on arrival
Carry the approved eVisa when required, a return or onward plan, accommodation details and any current vaccination evidence. Keep an offline copy of the authorization and application reference. An airline or immigration officer may ask to see the purpose and duration of the visit.
Children and non-standard passports
Families should verify consent and identity-document requirements when a child travels with one parent or another adult. Refugee travel documents, emergency passports and other non-standard documents require case-specific confirmation from the responsible authority.
