Four days: Cotonou and Ouidah
Use Cotonou as the arrival base, then give Ouidah a full day or overnight stay. Keep the final night near the airport if the departing flight is early.
Seven days: southern heritage route
Combine Cotonou, Ouidah, Porto-Novo and Abomey. Avoid visiting Porto-Novo and Abomey on the same rushed transfer; each deserves dedicated time. Add Grand-Popo only if a slower coastal day fits naturally.
Two weeks: south and north
After the southern route, continue north with realistic transfer days. Pendjari or another remote destination should be included only when current security and access checks support the journey and a qualified operator is in place.
Keep operational buffer
Do not connect a long road journey directly to an international departure. Reconfirm vehicles, accommodation and operating hours. A focused route with two or three bases is usually better than collecting distant stops.
