How to Apply for a Botswana Visa
Step 1: check whether an application is necessary
Confirm passport nationality and purpose against current Botswana government guidance. Visa-exempt tourists should not be directed to a paid application simply because a commercial form is available.
Step 2: prepare one consistent document set
Use the same passport for the form, travel bookings and journey. Prepare certified passport copies, two photographs, a covering letter, accommodation and flight details, itinerary and proof of intended departure. Names and passport numbers must match exactly.
Step 3: submit through the official route
Use the Botswana eVisa service, an immigration office or the responsible embassy or consulate. Follow current file-format instructions and keep the submission reference and payment evidence.
Step 4: review the decision
Government guidance gives a typical processing time of seven to fourteen days. Check the approved purpose, entries and validity. If the visa is not printed before travel, follow the government instructions accompanying the approval letter.
