Renewal
Renewal may require the previous passport, a new application, updated biometrics and evidence of any name or personal-data change. Some authorities cancel and return the old booklet.
Lost, stolen or damaged passports
Report the loss promptly and follow the issuing authority’s replacement procedure. A police report may support the application but does not by itself authorize travel.
Applications abroad
Embassies and consulates may accept applications from citizens abroad, issue emergency documents or forward applications to the national passport authority. Service availability differs by mission.
